Our flagship partnership with Groundwork, called United Futures, continues to regenerate neighbourhoods following our mains and sewer improvement works.
A key development since the start of this financial year has been the re-alignment of the programme with the current UU CR strategy.
The partnership has a very clear role and purpose linked to climate change. All of our projects involve the creation, development, enhancement or protection of green spaces. The link to climate change is made through improvement such as the use of water permeable surfaces and the preservation of the water table through appropriate use of natural spaces.
All United Futures projects are delivered using ‘environmental footprint’ best practice – e.g. minimising material miles through on-site recycling.
