We’ve ensured all of our buyers and some key suppliers have had sustainability training, including a common language of sustainable supply chain. All our categories of spend have been assessed against this common language and our buyers have confirmed their priorities for the medium term.
Our supply chain management process has been modified to include sustainability interventions. We include sustainability criteria in our tendering process to highlight the key sustainability risks and impacts and ask suppliers to tell us how they could mitigate these. However, we never dictate ways to tackle sustainability, preferring to encourage our suppliers to give us their views on the best way to tackle the issues.
