Corporate Responsibility Report 2009

Sharing our approach

We’re working with our partners in the North West to explore the future safeguarding of our water management through a new project called WaterProof Northwest. Our partners include the Environment Agency, the University of Manchester and the Mersey Basin Campaign. The University of Manchester will explore the impacts of potential changes to help create scenarios for water management in the region up to 2030. Using these, our partners and stakeholders will be better able to make forward-looking decisions about how we all manage water. This project builds on the previous pan-European ENMaR project.

Further away from home, two of our employees gave a workshop in Ethiopia on leakage management techniques, including safe water, locating leaks, pressure management and networks. Organised by Partners for Water and Sanitation, in conjunction with the country’s Ministry of Water Resources, it aimed to help introduce a consistent approach across Ethiopia to leakage strategy and control.
