We’re involved in the concession to operate and maintain water services to the city of Sofia, Bulgaria through the Sofiyska Voda company. Sofiyska Voda has purchased and are trialling Bulgaria’s first ever sewer cleaning vehicle equipped with a closed water recycling system. The vehicle works by means of washing, suction and water re-use, and can be used on a greater range of sewer diameters than the current fleet.
With this technology, there’s no need to make additional trips to load washing water and we can reduce fuel and water consumption. Approximately 90,000 litres of water is saved each day it is used. A special system recycles the wash water thanks to a system of special filters and separators. And a high-pressure water pump filters the water used for the repeated washing of sewers without any losses in its initial volume.
