With our engagement work, we measure and then act to improve on how our people think about the business, understand its direction and where they fit in; how they feel in terms of pride and attachment to the company and how they act and are motivated to go above and beyond.
Our challenge is to move from a situation where people might be simply happy and motivated to one where they are actively loyal, committed and engaged with their job and the overall business.
Our Team Workout sessions are excellent examples of how we’re taking on this challenge.
Team Workout is a facilitated session run locally at operational sites. It focuses on resolving a specific business problem that has been identified as causing a failure or potential failure to deliver.
The honesty of a frank yet mediated discussion on what’s going wrong has proven productive in putting things right. An action list is the end product, with a clear analysis of problem areas.
The aim is to ensure all actions are put in place within 90 days. However, teams are not left alone to correct issues – they have the on-going support of their business facilitator for that 90-day period.
